Job Announcements

The Circuit Court of Cook County is preparing to launch a new Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation Program to help Cook County homeowners who have mortgages in foreclosure.  The program is designed to help homeowners explore options to either stay in their homes, or negotiate a respectable exit.  The Circuit Court is working with legal aid groups and housing counselors who will provide free assistance to homeowners who have received a summons to appear in court.

The Chicago Bar Foundation (CBF) is working with the Circuit Court on the management of the legal assistance and mediation services needed for the initial phase of the new foreclosure mediation program.  With funding from the County, four partner organizations will be providing services for this part of the Circuit Court's program.  Three of those organizations-the Chicago Legal Clinic, Chicago Volunteer Legal Services and the Center for Conflict Resolution-are seeking to hire qualified candidates for several new attorney and other staff positions to provide services under the program.

Attached are detailed descriptions of these job positions and information on how qualified candidates can apply at each of the three organizations.  The positions are all for six-month terms to start.  Each of the positions may be extended beyond the initial six-month term, but that is contingent on further funding and is not guaranteed.  All applications should be submitted to the individual organizations according to the instructions in the attached job descriptions.

Each of these three organizations is committed to the principles of equal employment opportunity, without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, qualified disability, or sexual orientation or any other protected class.  Each of these organizations is an Equal Opportunity employer seeking to build a workforce that reflects the diverse community they serve.

We encourage you to forward these position announcements to your networks.  The deadline for all submissions is Friday, April 2, 2010.
